  6.                              THE SEND COMMAND

  8.  For those of you that are still having trouble with the commands that
  9.  send those "annoying little messages" that ring the console bell (or
  10.  buzzer) and look like:

  16.  the following will give detailed step-by-step instructions.

  19.  First, to see which users are in the Forum, type UST [RETURN] at the
  20.  Function: prompt.  The list of users that will appear after a brief
  21.  delay will be formatted like:

  24.       25  71645,253          T01NYC   1-2-3

  26.  
  27.  This tells you that the user with PPN 71645,253 is in this Forum, has
  28.  JOB number 25, and is connected thru phone node link T01 from New York
  29.  City.  If the PPN is unfamiliar, a quick look at the user log <U> will
  30.  give you the users handle and entry time.

  33.  You may then send that "annoying little message" by typing, at the
  34.  Function: level, and only at the Function prompt, either:

  37.         SEN JOB 25 mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  41.         SEN T01NYC mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  44.  where mmmmmmmm is a message up to 79 characters in length.  There will
  45.  be a delay as system searches for reciepient and SENds the message.  The
  46.  system may also reply ? Busy or ?TTY not found if your "target" is using
  47.  the sig access area or has logged off the network.  If you don't get an
  48.  immediate reply, it may be the recipient is in the process of replying
  49.  to a message, so be patient.
